RICHIE BENAUD'S "BAGGY GREEN" FROM THE 1953 CORONATION TOUR

Dark green wool cap, by Farmer's of Sydney, embroidered with the Australia emblem above the date 1953, with the interior label inscribed in pen "R. Benaud". This cap was given by Benaud to Bob Appleyard, the Yorkshire and England cricketer, during the 1954-55 tour. Comes with a signed letter from Appleyard in which he testifies "Richie Benaud's 1953 Tour of England cap was given to me during England's tour of Australia in 1954-55, whilst we were in opposition, and has been in my possession ever since".
