An acclaimed cricket biography of the charismatic Kent and England wicket-keeper who, with Denis Compton, was an icon to cricket followers in the 1950s. Thomas Godfrey Evans (1920-99) effected 219 dismissals in 91 Test matches between 1946 and 1959. After cricket, for a time he was Mine Host of the Jolly Drover pub near Petersfield, Hampshire.
