Clarrie GRIMMETT

In the late 1920's Norman Loudon, who later went on to found Shepperton Film Studios, was experimenting with high speed photography, producing flicker books which he thought could prove an invaluable aid to sportsmen looking to improve their technique by observing the top players in each field in great detail at each stage of their actions.

1st edition. 2x3", 98pp. This volume is a differently numbered variant of number 5 of the 'Flicker: Teach the Game - First series' depicting 'Clarrie' Grimmett demonstrating bowling styles, "Googley Delivery and Off Break Finger Spin", one running each way through the book. The contents are the same but this is numbered as no. 2 of Grimmet rather than no. 5 of the series. Internally very good, clean and bright with very slightly bumped corners. In the original dark blue wraps, slightly rubbed. A very good example of this scarce title. Signed by Grimmett with a small gift inscription to the first page over the publisher's details but with a small 3x6mm segment missing from the centre of the page affecting the signature.
