The penultimate issue of the highly influential illustrated weekly, competitor of the Illustrated London News. This issue has a beautiful batsman cover illustration by F. Stockmay. The issue contains photographs of the Northern Derby, the finals at Henley, 'Slim' Vines and 'Bunny' Austin - the Mens Wimbledon finalists in action, as well as much of non-sporting historical interest - Lausanne Reparations Conference, Churchill's attack on the BBC etc.

Paperback, 1st edition small folio. pagination iv, 509-548+ v-vii. Pages 523-524 are missing. Full colour and black and white photos and illustrations throughout. Internally good, clean and bright with some pages well thumbed. In the original full colour illustrated wraps, 3cm wide margin to right of cover illustration faded, a little rubbed else very good.
