MIDDLESEX V GLOUCESTERSHIRE 1938

MIDDLESEX V GLOUCESTERSHIRE 1938

Lord's, May 11 - 13, 1938. Middlesex won by 3 wickets. In a summer of big scores, Gloucestershire, with Hammond, Neale and Wilson scoring centuries, tied on first innings with Middlesex (big hundreds from Compton and Edrich in a stand of 304). Gloucestershire declared to set a tempting target and Middlesex just eased home, despite Goddard's tireless 12 for 276 in the match.
