ENGLAND V SCOTLAND 1949

Official RFU Dinner menu and Invitation card from the post-match Dinner at the May Fair Hotel on the 19th of March 1949. England had earlier won the Calcutta Cup 19-3. Signed in ink on the reverse by HA Haigh-Smith,  J McG Kendall-Carpenter, H Waddell, D Gent, GA Wilson J Jordan, WE Gillespie and C Hopwood.

Items from the collection of Dudley Kemp, England & the Barbarians, President of the Rugby Football Union 1969, a Member of the International Board 1971-77 and was the Hampshire representative on the RFU Committee 1955-69.

Menu card; 11.5 x 17.8cm. Single folded card with deckled edges. Very good.
Invitation; 15.1 x 11.4cm, gilt edged card. Has Kemp's name inserted. Very good
