  • John Edrich scores his 100th first-class century in July 1977.
  • Geoff Boycott scores his 100th first-class century in August 1977. Boycott, who had just returned to Test cricket after a three-year self-imposed exile, reaches his milestone with a century in the fourth Ashes Test on his home ground at Headingley. England regain the Ashes, winning the series 3-1.
