Biography of the boxer Billy Mcleod who hailed from Ancoats, Manchester, and was mainly active during the 1870s. He fought in the Manchester area against such opponents as Jim Wight and Tom Scattergood, and was a friend of the murderer Bill Cassidy. His early life seemed to have been full of misdaventure and law-breaking, until he found religion and turned his life around. This book is as much as celebration of that religious conversion as it is an accurate biography.
