Auction catalogue for the sale of "rare and valuable books" at Hodgson's rooms in Chancery Lane, London, WC2, on June 2nd, 1954.  Included is "an unusually fine collection of books on cricket", comprising 61 lots, formerly the property of E.W. Shepherd, a member of Surrey CCC for 50 years and "for many years with messrs. Hatchards, Piccadilly". Amongst the gems on offer was a 7th edition Lambert, a first of Felix on the Bat, a complete set of Wisden's Cricketers' Almanack, a full set of MCC Scores & Biographies, Gauntlet's Cricketers' Records during 1860, Duncombe's Surry Triumphant. Stoddart's Men I Have Met (2 vols in 1), A.D. Taylor's Catalogue of Cricket Literature, Beeston's St Ivo and the Ashes, and The Empire's Cricketers, by Chevalier Tayler.
