Original photograph of the MCC cricket team to India in 1933-34 being presented to the Viceroy of India (The Marquess of Willingdon) and his wife. The scene took place on the pitch before the match against Delhi and District on November 18-19, 1933. The Maharajah of Patiala, who played for the M.C.C. team in this match, can be seen in the line up. Douglas Jardine, the captain of the M.C.C. team is presenting the players. The tourists won the match by an innings and 133 runs with Mitchell scoring a century and the Maharajah chipping in with 54.

12 x 16cm. The photograph is laid down to board with the original typed caption still present. Some dampness/browning to lower corner, only partially affecting main image. A very rare photograph taken on the first England cricket tour after the "Bodyline" series.
