One of the most comprehensive of club histories. Queen's Park are Scotland's oldest football club, founded 1867, and have always played as amateurs. At their zenith, in the 1880s and 90s, they bagged the Scottish Cup seven times running. This handsome volume chronicles those glory years in exhaustive detail.
First Edition. Large 8vo. vii + [i] + 446pp. Frontis. (showing the first leaf of the minute book for 1867) + 16 plates. Bound in green leather, Gilt titles and border to spine exactly match blue cloth variant. Internally clean and bright, binding a little loose but remains intact. Boards somewhat rubbed and some tape repair to spine extremities, corners bumped. A very good copy of this scarce club history. Presentation copy dedicated "To R.G.G. (Bob) Bowman With Compliments from Q.P.FC.." appears to be signed 'J.D. Sneddon' but given the dates, most likely to be T.D. Sneddon, a Queen's Park player from 1921 to 1927 with 77 league and 25 cup starts to his name.
