Sports and Politics: a cracking career path?

8th June 2017

Is politics a logical next step after a successful career in sports?  Former athletes, Lord Coe, Sir Menzies Campbell, Sir Chris Chataway and Kate Hoey have certainly all achieved.  We looked at the careers of three exceptional, past  cricketers too to gauge potential success. Results were mixed! Wisden Dust Jackets

Wisden Dust Jackets

In 1965 Wisden produced its first distinctive yellow dust jacket for the hardback Wisden Cricketers' Almanack. Many horrified traditionalists promptly threw them away, which makes a 1965 Wisden hardback WITH original dust jacket covetable today. In 2003 Wisden issued traditional dust jackets as an option to the photographic dust jackets issued with the hardback Wisdens from 2003 onwards.

Sportspages is proud to be Wisden Cricketers' Almanack's official dust jacket supplier. All the jackets you order from us are official replacement dust jackets or original, traditional style ones. In the last few years we have introduced protective, yellow dust jackets for Wisdens, going back to 1946. So you can now have a handsome row of yellow-jacketed Wisden Almanacks on your shelves from 1946 to the present day. We're pleased to say that our customers have clearly come to terms with the Wisden dust jacket by now and have taken to this most recent addition with great enthusiasm.
