In mid-November Sportspages launched its flagship website, superseding its previous two sites bodylinebooks.com and wisdensonthenet.com. Customers who frequented these sites in the past will now find all the items, and more, at www.sportspages.com. We hope that the handover to our new site will be a smooth one for all previous customers.
Sportspages is delighted to bring you a selection of great sports books and memorabilia chosen from a large and ever-growing stock. This stock has been built up over the past four years and now stands as the biggest - and most varied - in the world. As well as being the pre-eminent specialist supplier of Wisden Cricketers' Almanack - fondly known as "The Cricketers' Bible" - it is our intention to make Sportspages the first port of call for those attracted to fine sports books and memorabilia.
Sportspages has evolved from Bodyline Books, the business which Giles Lyon founded in 1994 from his base in Fulham, London. Book selling was in the blood - his father having been one of London's best known antiquarian book dealers, and over a period of fifteen years he built up the business of selling cricket books, ephemera and memorabilia. As Bodyline Books grew he took on a partner, Mike Scott, a television producer in a previous life, and moved out to larger premises in Farnham, Surrey, where the business is now firmly rooted.
Committed to the belief that there was considerable interest in sports beyond cricket, Sportspages has expanded its holdings a hundredfold in recent years primarily in golf, football, rugby union and angling, as well as tennis, boxing, horse racing and rowing and a smattering of lesser sports. To reflect this change of emphasis it was decided to take on a name which better represented what we do, which is why Bodyline Books has morphed into Sportspages. Although books and signed ephemera will still be at the forefront of our business, we will be offering up other items of interest from photographs, postcards and cigarette cards to pictures, posters and programmes.
We are a business but we are also passionate sports followers who want to share our knowledge and enthusiasm with fellow aficionados. It's our belief that sport has a rich and fascinating history that can be brought to life by quality items of sports memorabilia.
For the collector, Sportspages is the place to come to fill those gaps and, who knows, perhaps stumble into new areas of interest? We can also be useful to those who want to take advantage of the attractive investment potential of sports memorabilia by helping you assemble a collection that will increase in value in the years to come.
Or if you are just looking for an unusual gift for a friend, relative or work colleague, Sportspages can provide it.
Whether you are looking for a particular item or you'd just like to browse, visit www.sportspages.com and take a trip back in time to the great sporting moments of the past.
We are always interested in buying new stock, so please get in touch with items to sell, whether just a single book or a complete collection. We can often quote over the phone but it is always helpful to provide information via email and with a picture.
