Sports Books titles – the best of all time?

5th October 2018

The (ab)use of the pun in the titles of sports books:  The use of puns in the titles of sports books, particularly biographies, is nothing new. 1951 gave us Plum Warner’s “Long Innings” and Jim Laker’s “Spinning Round The World”, and so a new tradition was established. About Us – the Home for Sports Books and Memorabilia

SPORTSPAGES at www.sportspages.com is the only website of its kind offering thousands of sports books and items of sporting memorabilia on every sport.  We inherited our name from the legendary sports bookshop in London, off the Charing Cross Road, which sadly closed in 2006.  The original shop, Sportspages’ remit was to sell sports books, newspapers and fanzines on as broad a range of sports as possible. John Gaustad, the Sportspages’ shop’s founder, is said to have launched it in 1985 after he was unable to find any sports books about his beloved All Blacks in London.

We  took over the Sportspages name in 2007 with the same sense of aspiration to show case as broad and as deep a range of sports books and sports memorabilia as possible. We certainly have the All Blacks covered in honour of John Gaustad and so many of our customers too.
