Original cabinet card photograph of A.J. Webbe posing with cricket bat, taken by E. Hawkins & Co.. Webbe played for Oxford University and Middlesex from 1875, captaining the county from 1885 to 1898. He was selected for Lord Harris's cricket tour of Australia in 1878-79, where he played his one and only Test match. This image of Webbe was probably taken in 1892 and it was used for an article on him in Bailey's Magazine of September 1892 (photocopy included).

17 x 11cm. Top left corner of the board is knocked off although the photographic paper is still complete. The image is a little faded but still in good/very good condition. A rare early cricket photograph.
