This annual is known as the Wisden of football. It lasted from 1887 to 1945-46, at which point it was incorporated into the Sunday Chronicle Football Annual. 

Eleventh year of issue, covering the 1896-97 season. Paperback. 12mo. 224pp. 2 plates comprising a total of 8 cameo portraits. Orignal paper covers, lightly rubbed with extreme tip of lower corner knocked off. Very good condition.
