Autobiography of the great writer on cricket and music, first published in 1947.

First edition. 8vo. 288pp. Frontispiece, 7 plates. Cloth-covered boards, rubbed and marked. A fair copy. A sheet of headed notepaper of the National Liberal Club is slipped in, this with a handwritten note from Cardus: "To save you the trouble of packing up the book, I enclose an autograph which you can paste into your copy". Pasted to the half-title page is a piece of paper which reads "To Sybil Parkin, Daughter of a wonderful father and a warm heated mother, from Neville Cardus, October 18th, 1960." Sybil Parkin was the daughter of Cec Parkin, the great Lancashire bowler.
