4to. 283pp. Portrait frontis, 45 plates. Green cloth, lightly rubbed. Gilt emblem of bat and wicket to upper board. NB. This book is notable for some fine writing on the game and many superb action images of Golden Age cricketers. Good condition. This booked belonged to Don Crossley, the co-founder of the Cricket Memorabilia Society, with his book labels to bottom of front pastedown. He has also corner mounted an inscription on card which reads - "The motif on the front cover of this book inspired Don Crossley founder of the Cricket Memorabilia Society to use this motif on the society's tie. C.M.S. was formed April 1987. This book is signed by Gubby Allen and owned by Don Crossley". It is, indeed, signed by Gubby Allen to the lower section of the title-page.
