Facsimile reprints of three classic and scarce early cricket books, namely Nyren's Cricketer's Guide, Lillywhite's Handbook of Cricket and Denison's Sketches of the Players. Exact facsimiles of the original books, which even by the 1890s were out of print and very difficult to acquire. Provides an inexpensive way to read and enjoy three of cricket literature's early classics.

8vo. 101pp; 24pp; 76pp. Undated second facsimile edition, from around 1890. Original green cloth, gilt lettering to spine. Gutter becoming exposed in places. Still a very good copy. [Padwick, 873]. This copy belonged to the great cricket historian F.S. Ashley-Cooper, with his bookplate to front pastedown and signed by him to fly-leaf. Sheets relating to the sale of this book in 1968 are slipped in.
