Instruction on each aspect of the game, in the "Oval Series of Games". William "Billy" Murdoch (1854-1911) captained Australia on the 1880, 1882, 1884 and 1890 tours of England. He also played in the second Test match ever, the 1877 clash against England at the MCG. He is sometimes referred to as the "WG Grace of Australian cricket."

Second Edition. Small 8vo. 95pp. 6 plates including frontis. Original bright red cloth with a bearded figure embossed on the front. Boards are rubbed and a little marked. Binding weak in places. A fair/good copy.
