FOOTBALL: THE RUGBY GAME

Amongst the earliest rugby titles, notable for its account of the seismic split in 1863, which saw the formation of the Football Association "under a code which Rugbeians could not afford to accept." Also contains a chapter on the effects of professionalism, by Arthur Budd. Later editions published in 1890, 1898 and 1909.

First Edition. 8vo. [10]pp + 74pp. including adverts. Original illustrated boards, small nick to front, bottom right corner of front board bumped. Internal front gutter tender. A very good copy.  VERY RARE.  [Jenkins, A7]
