Original real photographic postcard of the Jamaican sprinter G.C. Foster, taken while representing Kensington Athletics Club. Despite being a leading sprinter of the time Foster was denied entry to the 1908 Olympics as Jamaica was not an affiliated member of the IOC. He went on to represent Jamaica at cricket, including playing 3 games against the MCC in 1910-11. In later life he was an influential athletics coach and the G.C. Foster College of Physical Education and Sport in Spanish Town was named in his honour. He died in 1966.

Very good condition.
