An early history of one of the dominant clubs in the early days of the Football League. The book covers the club's glory, glory days, when they won the FA Cup five times in the 1880s and 1890s and two League titles before the first World War. Published to mark the club's golden jubilee. One chapter, entitiled "Turbulent scenes at Ewood Park" covers an early incident of extreme hooliganism.

First Edition. 8vo. 219pp. Frontispiece, 28 plates. Rebound in dark blue leather, gilt tooling to front cover, title on label mounted to spine between gilt-edged bands, t.e.g. Internally very fresh and clean. Marbled endpapers. A really handsome copy which Seddon [B151] suggests is 'a rare volume'.
