HOLDEN (ABERDARE ATHLETIC) FOOTBALL POSTCARD

Football postcard. Real photograph, possibly by Thomas of Newport. An hand-written note on the reverse suggests that Holden was player-manager of Aberdare Athletic. Aberdare were elected to Division 3 (South) in 1921 and were voted out in 1927, after finishing bottom. They were replaced by Torquay Utd. It is likely that this card was published between 1905 and 1910. Postally unused. Pencil notes to reverse. Very good.
