Includes coverage of the Australian Senior Grade Teams competition, season 1909. The competing were: North Sydney, Newtown, Sydney, Eastern Suburbs, Glebe, Western Suburbs, University, South Sydney, Manly, Balmain and St. George, with a group photograph of each team, 12-full page cartoons by Ben Jordan featuring satirical jokes concerning various Grade matches (Glebe v Manly, South Sydney v Glebe, etc, 5 in colour. Also contains two photographs of the 1908-09 Wallabies, the first Australian touring side, which coincided with the 1908 London Olympics. The ninth match of the tour saw the Wallabies play Great Britain (actually Cornwall RFC) in the Olympic final against the English county champions. They won the match at White City 32-3 to take gold.

4to. 22pp. Profusely illustrated, many in colour. Original pictorial paper wrappers, point of top right corner of front wrapper knocked off, o/w in superb condition, just offsetting to centrepages and some light spots of foxing to detract. Loosely inserted is the Metropolitan Rugby Union flyer advertising the visit of Ponsonby FC ("Premier Club of New Zealand") for its tour, with matches against Metropolis, Combined South Sydney & Glebe DFC's, Metropolis again, and Newtown DFC. Very scarce, esp. with flyer.
