Menu card for a dinner held in honour of the English F.A. at the Casina Valadier Pincio in Rome on May 12th, 1933. The dinner was organised by the Italian F.A. and was held the night before Italy and England met for the very first time at the National Fascist Stadium, Rome, on May 13th, 1933. In the match, attended by Mussolini, Cliff Bastin scored his first England goal as the match ended 1-1.
Single folded card held together with cord. Very good condition. This belonged to the well-known English referee William Musther, who was one of the touch judges for this match. Signed inside in ink by Giorgio Vaccaro, the President of the Italian F.A. and by Renato Sacerdoti, the President of AS Roma.
