Original photograph of Jack Hobbs batting for Surrey against Worcestershire during the opening day of the 1932 County Championship season. Fred Root, in his last season of first-class cricket, was still persisting with his own form of leg theory - this time with four close fielders on the leg side. The photo shows Hobbs getting the ball away through the leg trap, while on his way to a score of 84. Incorrectly dated on the back as April 29th - it must have been April 30th.

21 x 25cm. Ink caption to reverse. Some discolouration. Good condition.
