Rare original black and white Press photo of Jardine and  Hobbs walking out to open the batting for the only time together for England - Sutcliffe being ill - against Australia in the Fifth Test at Melbourne, Mar 8-16, 1929. They put on 64 (Jardine 19, Hobbs 142) followed by 1 in the second innings (Jardine 0, Hobbs 65); Hobbs's century was his fifth at Melbourne, his 12th against Australia, both records for an Englishman, and furthermore, at 46 years 83 days, he became the oldest centurion in Ashes history. However, Australia won by 5 wickets as consolation after England had won the first four Tests.

Two small inked in areas above Hobbs. A superb and historic image of two of England's greatest cricketers. Mounted, framed and glazed - overall size is 35 x 30cm.
