Handwritten cricket letter from E.W Swanton his fellow cricket journalist John Woodcock, dated November 1998. Swanton talks about an article, which he has enclosed (and is included here), written in the Observer the day before about Swanton and his experience of watching cricket in Australia. "The enclosed isn't bad, I think, considering McCrum (the journalist) knew nothing about cricket." There is also mention of Alec Bedser and Woodcock's regret that he had not been more fulsome in his praise of Bedser (what this refers to is not clear).

15 x 21cm. Written on both sides. Very good condition.
