First Day Cover, issued to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Dr. James Naismith, the inventor of basketball. Postmarked Springfield, Mass., the home of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Signed to the front by John W Bunn, the first chairman of the Basketball Hall of Fame (1946-69).
