A beautiful little hand-coloured engraving of a lady lawn tennis player holding a racket in front of a net and gentleman player in the background. Undated but dress and equipment suggest the very early years of the game. Reverse has stamp of Creed & Breton, Silk Mercers of Southampton who were in operation up to early 1880s. 

9x6cm. Signed of previous mounting on reverse. Good condition and very scarce.
