An account of the British Lions tour of Australia and New Zealand, 1959.

8vo. 224pp. Frontispiece, 16 b/w plates. Dust-wrapper, rubbed to edges with larger chip to bottom of back panel and spine. Good condition. Signed and dedicated by JBG Thomas "To the English "Pioneers" - Tom, Micky and Mike and the Gang of 1963". Thomas is referring to Tom Berry (manager), Micky Steele-Bodger (assistant) and Mike Weston (captain) of the England rugby tour to New Zealand and Australia in 1963. This was Engand's first ever overseas tour, hence the "Pioneers". This book comes from the personal collection of Micky Steele-Bodger, who played rugby for England and was a long-serving President of the Barbarians RFC, amongst many other achievements.
