Original sepia photograph of a tennis party from the late nineteenth century, and probably taken in the French Alps. The costumes and equipment would suggest a date from the 1880s - the name J Morgon and the date 1885 is written in pencil to the reverse. The title given is "Tenis A Peze(y)". The location is not clear from this, but it could be from the Rhone-Alpes region of France. A lovely early image of tennis.

Overall size 24 x 30cm. Some light marks to the edge of mount. Very good.
