Gallaher is one of the great innovators of All Black history, captaining the legendary 1905 touring side. He was killed by a piece of shrapnel at the third battle of Ypres in 1917. In this book, one of the classics of rugby literature, he and his vice captain give an overview of rugby and the training methods and tactics that made the side, the first to bear the "All Blacks" name, such a devastating force.

1st edition, 8vo. xxiv, 322pp, plus 32 pages of adverts to rear plus 20 pages of plates and 13 diagrams illustrations in the text. Original cloth, photos. Boards are edgeworn with a few small marks and nicks. Good condition - one of the better copies that we have seen.
