Small printed handbook for the newly formed Football League. This covered its third season since being formed by William McGregor in 1888 and included club colours, list of officials, list of referees and, of course, the rules. The original club members were Accrington, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Derby County, Everton, Notts County, Preston North End, Stoke (who were not re-elected for this season and were replaced by Sunderland), West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers. In 1909-10 this annual became The Football League Handbook.
Paperback. 8pp. 15 x 10cm. Neat ink marks next to names of some referees. There may have been original paper wrappers, which are now missing. A good example of a very rare and early edition.
