Small printed handbook for the newly formed Football League. This covered its fifth season since being formed by William McGregor in 1888 and included club colours, list of officials, list of referees and, of course, the rules. The new First Division clubs were Accrington (who resigned at the end of the season), Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Derby County, Everton, Notts County, Nottingham Forest, Newton Heath, Preston North End, Sheffield Wednesday, Stoke, Sunderland, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers. A second division was also added at this point. In 1909-10 this annual became The Football League Handbook.

Paperback. 16pp. 15 x 10cm. Neat ink marks next to names of some referees and officials. There may have been original paper wrappers, which are now missing. A good example of a very rare and early edition.
