THE RAN DAN CLUB (DRINKING SOCIETY) 1886 ORIEL COLLEGE PHOTOGRAPH - INCLUDING CRICKETERS

Original photograph of members of the 1886 Oriel College Ran Dan Club. This was a secretive drinking society (or "wine club") which still seems to be flourishing today. All the photographed members are listed below, including the President J.H. Brain, who went on to play first-class cricket for Gloucestershire from 1883-89. Alongside him are two other significant cricketers, both of whom played for Surrey and the MCC - George Ricketts and Kingsmill Key. Also includes Lt. Col. Charles Willoughby Waddington.
