Illustrated potted biographies of every cricketer who appeared in first-class cricket in England in 1952 and 1953. Also includes some people who only appeared in friendly matches of note, such as broadcasters, well-known journalists etc.

Revised edition. 8vo. 192pp. including black and white photographs throughout. Some light foxing. The dust-wrapper is rubbed to edges with a 4cm loss to top of spine. Good condition. Signed to the title-page by Roy Webber and to the  fly-leaf by 14 Lancashire players of the mid-1950s - including Edrich, Greenhough, Wharton, Wilson, Hilton, Ikin, Statham, Grieves, Bond, Pullar, Dyson, Roberts and Jordan (and one unidentified). Signed to their entries and to some photographs by a further 204 players, including many Australians, South Africans, Indians and all the big English stars of the day, as well as many lesser lights. Examples include Benaud, Fingleton, Harvey, Hassett, Compton, Cowdrey, Hutton, Arlott, Swanton, McCool, May, Marshall, Laker, Gaekwad, Subba Row, Surrridge, Yardley etc. Bernard Hedges has even managed to correct his date of birth in the book.
