An important history of British horseracing in six volumes. An edition in three volumes also exists.

First Edition. 4to. viii + 742pp. in total. 36 photogravure plates, text illustrations. Original decorated cloth, notably well preserved, gilt title to upper board and spine. All edges gilt. Slight foxing to endpapers, also to edge of frontis. in vol II div 2 and edge of some plates in vol I div 1. Otherwise, a very good and impressive set.
