Programme for the race on 19 November 1955 won by George Knight of the Essex Beagles in a record-breaking time of 25.06 minutes, staking his claim for inclusion in the GB Team for the Melbourne Olympics. From the collection of the well-known sports journalist Sydney Hulls and including his draft press-copy celebrating Knight's victory.
