Cricket flyer advertising a cricket match at Bridgnorth Cricket Ground (Shropshire) on July 27th and 28th July 1874 between 14 clowns and 14 members of Bridgnorth Cricket Club. The Clown Cricketers was a professional side put together by T.W. Casey and Tom Robson ("the original Black Clown Cricketer") which toured all over the country. There was a second Clown Cricketers team of the time doing similar things, this one organised by Arthur Treloar. A handwritten note at the bottom confirms that the Clown Cricketers would be playing the next two days in Cheltenham.

Single folded sheet. 18 x 11cm. A few holes to top edges and piece missing from one corner. A rare and very interesting cricket item.
