The official programme for the Celtic F.C. Amateur Athletic Sports meeting, held at Celtic Park on August 13th, 1910. This included a range of athletic and cycling events but perhaps the highlight was a four-way 5-a-side football tournament, involving Celtic, Rangers, Clyde and Partick Thistle. The programme belonged to Ernest Haley who competed in the running races and was also a 1912 Olympian. Another notable competitor in the cycling was Dan Flynn, the great Scottish cyclist and, later, boxer who seemed to be affiliated to Celtic F.C. at this time (it is listed in the programme as the club that he is representing). William Maley was listed as "Clerk of the Course and Secretary" and the programme includes a full-page portrait of him. There is also a full-page portrait of Celtic's James McMenemy oppposite a full page advert for his benefit match against Clyde on August 24th, 1910. There were, undoubtedly, many more important/interesting competitors in attendance that day.

Stapled programme. 64pp. 18x12cm. Cover is loose from staple and has some foxing. One internal tear but otherwise the programme is in very good condition. A very rare item.
