Accounts of 18th century cricket matches culled from newspapers held in the British Library, plus two poems, originally published in 1773, on the Kent v Surrey match at Bourne Paddock in that year.

8vo. xiv + 126pp. + [2] blanks. Frontispiece (tissue-guard), depicting cricket played near White Conduit Fields in London in 1787. Original maroon cloth, title in gilt lettering to spine. Bookplate of the well-known cricket collector Charles Pratt Green. A very good copy.
