Eleven volumes of the annual review of racing in Britain. Sequence starts with a special volume, published in 1930, covering the years 1919-23, and is continued with a volume for each of the years from 1924 (vol. I, looking back on racing in 1923) to 1933 (vol. X). Each volume features twenty or more essays on the season's top horses, accompanied by a full-page plate.

First Edition. 1919-23 volume is no. 39 in a limited edition of 300, Vol. I is no. 162 of 1000, Vol II is no. 387 of 1000, vol. III is no. 55 of 1000, vol. IV is no. 45 of 1000, vol. V is no. 389 of 1000, vol. VI is no. 76 of 1000, vol. VII is no. 212 of 1000, vol VIII is a review copy, vol IX is no. 212 of 1000, vol. X is no. 212 of 1000. Folio. 1389pp in total. Orig. brown cloth, cream sp., t.e.g. Over 20 b/w plates (photographs by W.A. Rouch) with tissue guards in each vol. (30 in 1919-24 vol.). Boards of all volumes are scuffed and marked, minor tears in 2 of spines, light foxing but generally clean inside. A good set.
