Instructional, although the main features of this little book are the excellent action photos used to demonstrate various punches and combinations. Born Dov-Ber Rasofsky, Ross (1909-67) had the misfortune to see his rabbi father stabbed to death in a robbery. Having abandoned his rabbinical studies he became a street brawler alongside his buddy Jack Ruby, before going to work for Al Capone. He transformed himself into the first three weight champion in boxing history. When he quit the fight game he joined the Marines at the age of 33 and fought in the second World War where he single-handedly killed 22 Japanese soldiers during battle on the Guadalcanal.
