Lord's, July 3 - 5, 1899. Drawn. This was the first relatively high-scoring draw in the University match, with the batting of both sides being stronger than their bowling. Bosanquet of Oxford was the exception, blasting out 7 for 89 in the first innings with fast bowling, in the days before he perfected the googly.
