Holbein swam the Channel four times as well as performing other feats of long distance swimming. This book is most bizarre. For example it includes sections on "Smoking Under Water" ("smoke a cigar until it is well alight, then take up your stand on the diving board ..."); "Dinner Under Water" ("take a soft roll in the left hand, and whilst submerging the rest of the body keep that hand above the surface."); and how to cope with "Weed Entanglements". A new edition was published by Bloomsbury in 2005.

First Edition. 115pp. + [10] adverts at the back. Original yellow cloth illustrated with an image of a diver plunging into water. A very good copy of a book that has become something of a cult title due to its rather potty observations.
