Biography of John L. Sullivan (1858-1918) - the "Boston Strong Boy" - who in 1882 knocked out Paddy Ryan to win the Amercian heavyweight championship. Ten years later he lost the title to Jim Corbett. And as Fleischer says "he was an impressive sinner and a prodigious drinker - mostly of champagne".
