Official programme for the famous athletics meeting between the USA and the USSR held at Stanford University on July 21-22, 1962. Somehow the two Cold War enemies managed to stage yearly athletics meetings - this one just a short while before the Cuban Missile Crisis. There were some impressive athletic performances during the two days but it will be best remembered for the vast crowds and the excellent sportsmanship of both teams despite the ongoing political crisis.

Paperback. 4to. 64pp. Small ink inscription to inside of front cover. Light crease to cover. Very good condition. A rare programme from an important moment in athletics history.
